What is Arginina?

Arginina is an L-arginine supplement that is produced in accordance with high quality standards.

L-arginine is an extremely important amino acid for developing children.
In adults it falls under the category of “conditionally essential amino acids” as it plays a crucial role in supporting the body’s functions during periods of stress-related trauma or intense physical activity. During such times, if L-arginine is not synthesised at a sufficient rate to cope with the body’s needs, supplementation is required.

Use and mechanism of action

The primary function of amino acids is to combine together to form proteins, which are nutrients needed for the structure and function of a whole series of elements that are crucial for our bodies, such as skin, muscles, blood components, hormones, internal organs, hair and nails. Amino acids are also crucial for all those biological processes responsible for our body’s well-being, such as the digestion, absorption and transport of nutrients following meals; immune defenses, growth, development and reproduction.

L-arginine is used by the body to produce creatine, the intermediate compound used in large quantities by the muscles to produce energy during physical activity.

It is also an intermediate product of the urea cycle, the biochemical process that allows the body to be detoxified by eliminating the ammonia that accumulates in the muscle cells during exercise and is responsible for the unpleasant sensation of fatigue.

Some studies highlight the involvement of L-arginine in those processes that lead to the production of T-lymphocytes, indicating its possible use as immune function support.

L-arginine is also involved in the formation of nitric oxide, a substance that induces vasodilatation, and has been designated an important factor in the overall physiological reactions, which decrease blood pressure, while increasing the supply of blood to the tissues.

RECOMMENDATION: 2 -3 capsules daily with a large glass of water, preferably away from meals.
