AKU has for most of its shoes the exclusive outsoles designed together with Vibram®, for both the specific design and shape of the outsole as well as for the composition of the rubber which it is made with, thought for the specific needs and the different use of the shoes.
GORE-TEX®
GORE-TEX® Footwear is a breathable, microporous yet completely waterproof membrane. This is achieved by virtue of the fact that each of its pores is 700 times bigger than a molecule of water vapour but 20.000 times smaller than the smallest possible drop of water. Its chemical and physical qualities remain unchanged through time and render GORE-TEX® Footwear bio-compatible and immune to chemical and acid attacks.
Precise FIT
Precise, slightly curved lasts for footwear in the Backpacking and Multiterrain segment, designed for a dynamic use on medium difficulty terrain or more demanding on technical surfaces.

IMS Internal Midsole System
The lasting board is pre-shaped to match the bottom of your foot, with an appropriate layer of EVA also matching the contours of your foot.
