YAMAMOTO® RESEARCH
Yamamoto® Research Coletix - Food supplement based on fermented red rice (Monascus purpureus), with gamma oryzanol and coenzyme Q10 Yamamoto® Research Coletix is a food supplement based on Olecol® certified olive extract, red yeast rice ( Monascus purpureus ), gamma oryzanol and completed with coenzyme Q10. The product supplies 58 mg/daily dose of fermented red rice titrated at 2.76% in total monacolins (2.76 mg per daily dose*). Coletix contributes to the maintenance of normal blood cholesterol levels, thanks to the synergy of the active ingredients contained. The formula is in fact completed with Olecol® certified olive extract, gamma oryzanol and coenzyme Q10. What is Coletix Cardiovascular diseases are nowadays among the main causes of disability and mortality in Western and developing countries, and are favored by unhealthy lifestyles, unbalanced diet, excess of "junk food", scarce or no physical activity, and smoking. Specifically, it is good to keep the entire lipid balance under control in order to protect yourself from the formation of atherosclerotic plaques along the blood vessel walls, favored by inflammation and hypertension, which will potentially be at risk of obstructing the vessels and causing very serious consequences on the cardiovascular system. Coletix® is the product that Yamamoto® Research has developed to promote and support good blood circulation, heart health and maintain normal levels of triglycerides and cholesterol in the blood. Per the formulation, a titrated and standardized plant extract was chosen, which allows to keep the natural active ingredients qualitatively and quantitatively constant, ensuring the product stability, bioavailability and efficacy. The product has the following synergies:
In detail, Monacolin K from fermented red rice is a molecule belonging to the Monacolin group, which originates from the fermentation of the common red cooking rice Oryza sativa thanks to the action of the Monascus purpureus yeast , also called "red yeast", which gives the characteristic color. Always used in oriental cuisine as a substitute for vinegar and as a health agent, the fermentation of this rice makes it possible to obtain numerous substances, the monacolins, which perform a cholesterol-lowering action. In fact, Traditional Chinese Medicine suggests the consumption of fermented red rice to treat circulatory disorders and also in case of gastrointestinal discomfort, but the discovery of the molecule to which most of the beneficial characteristics are attributed dates back to 1979. In that year, Professor Aika Endo studying the fermentation of "red yeast" he discovered that a metabolite produced in the fermentation process could inhibit the enzyme HMG-CoA-reductase , one of the main enzymes involved in the synthesis of cholesterol (which takes place in the liver). This metabolite was indeed monacolin K. Herbal statins, such as monacolin K, have been shown to possess cholesterol-lowering properties. In any case, consumption must comply with the recommended doses in compliance with current regulations, in order not to incur side effects such as weakness, muscle pain, gastrointestinal or hepatic disorders. The olive tree extract * promotes normal blood circulation and the regularity of blood pressure. The Oleuropein contained in Coletix is represented by Olecol®, a patented Bioactor product, highly water soluble, standardized, extracted from the Olive leaf, with a very high concentration of bioavailable Oleuropin, which has demonstrated, thanks to a dual mechanism of action, to favor the normal blood circulation and regularity of blood pressure. It is a natural ingredient that offers a safe approach for the management of blood lipid levels, able to increase the levels of good cholesterol (HDL) and fight lipid oxidation and whose validity has also been demonstrated by multiple randomized controlled trials with placebo. Gamma oryzanol is a substance that is extracted from rice bran oil; it is also present in wheat bran, some fruits and some vegetables. Gamma oryzanol is believed to reduce cholesterol levels by limiting its absorption from food; for this reason it is mainly proposed to treat cases in which cholesterol is high. In particular, in these cases, gamma oryzanol appears to reduce the levels of total cholesterol, that of bad cholesterol (the so-called LDL, LowDensityLipoproteins) and those of triglycerides, as well as having metabolic, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities. Coenzyme Q10 , also known as ubiquinone, due to its ubiquitous role in the body, is a very important molecule for our body. It is present above all in the mitochondria, the energy control units of the cells, and also in the heart muscle, although it is present in many human tissues. It is involved in the electron transfer processes of the cell, and is a powerful antioxidant that protects membranes from oxidative damage. Given that cholesterol-lowering statins also reduce the production of Coenzyme Q10, it is very useful to replenish the levels of this substance when taking active ingredients, even natural ones, which could lower its physiological levels.
