Yamamoto® Research Melatovil - Support for reducing the time required for sleep * Yamamoto® Research Melatovil is a dietary supplement of melatonin. Melatonin, also known as the "sleep hormone", is a water-soluble hormone that regulates the sleep-wake cycle. We all produce it every day, from serotonin, and its synthesis occurs mainly when it gets dark (in the dark), at the epiphysis (or pineal gland) in our brain. Some foods contain melatonin naturally, but in very small quantities. The production of melatonin is influenced by several factors, the most important being light, age, diet and the presence of other hormones. As explained above, light inhibits the production of melatonin, which is in fact only stimulated during the night: when the light stimulus reaches the retina, a signal is sent to the epiphysis to block its secretion. Age also plays an important role, as melatonin production is reduced with age due to calcification of the epiphysis. Too much caffeine and stress can also limit its synthesis. It is therefore easy to understand why supplementation may be necessary in a number of cases. Melatonin is commonly used for its support in reducing the time required to fall asleep (the beneficial effect is obtained by taking 1 mg of melatonin shortly before going to bed). It has proved particularly effective in helping people to fall asleep, as it works by restoring the body's biological rhythms (circadian rhythms). It also helps to alleviate the effects of jet lag (the beneficial effect is obtained by taking a minimum of 0.5 mg just before bedtime on the first day of travel and for a few days after arrival at destination), and its effectiveness has been widely documented in this respect. Jet-lag, or time zone syndrome, affects those who travel frequently, and melatonin intervenes in such cases to regularise our 'internal clock', which is disrupted by the time change. Several studies claim that 1 to 2 mg of melatonin is sufficient to restore the blood values of this hormone. We therefore recommend taking 20 drops (1 ml) once a day, either as they are or diluted in water, in the evening before going to bed. Directions: take 20 drops (1 ml) once a day, as such or dilute in water, in the evening before going to bed.
Storage conditions: store in a cool. Avoid exposure to heat sources and sunlight. Do not dump after use.
