PROBIOS
|
Probios - Cereals - Hulled spelt (400 g) Ancestor of wheat, originally from the Fertile Half Moon and then arrived from Egypt to the Mediterranean, becoming the basic cereal in the diet of the ancient Romans. It is a dressed grain, i.e. it has the external "glumetta" film well attached to the grain. Hulled spelt keeps the hull intact, unlike the pearled one in which it is eliminated, the percentage of Fibre in hulled spelt is in fact still very high; precisely for this reason and for the limited calorie content compared to other refined cereals, its use in cooking is favored by those attentive to weight control who, while not giving up on taste, choose simple dishes rich in nutrients. We recommend soaking for at least 4 hours and cooking in a ratio of 1 to 3 until the water is completely absorbed. Suitable for preparing soups with legumes, |
