YAMAMOTO® RESEARCH
Yamamoto® Research Vitamina C Pureway Chewable Vitamin C is the Yamamoto® Research product based on 500 mg of patented PureWay-C® vitamin C , containing lipid metabolites and citrus bioflavonoids for better absorption and release, in chewable form. Bioflavonoids are added to the formula to enhance the absorption of vitamin C.
The innovative PUREWAY-C® patent chosen for the Vitamin C Complex is composed of 100% natural vitamin C combined with bioflavonoids and vegetable fatty acids, extracted from citrus fruits, combined to allow exceptional stability of the molecule, maximum intestinal absorption and optimal vascular distribution. Thanks to the presence of molecules capable of acting as cofactors, the result is an even more effective and well-tolerated vitamin C at the gastrointestinal level. Vitamin C, also known as ascorbic acid, is one of the most important water-soluble vitamins for our body and must be taken regularly with food. This vitamin is precious for its multiple functions, first of all its antioxidant action which allows the body to counteract oxidative stress, free radicals and cellular aging . It is also involved in various physiological mechanisms: • It participates as a cofactor in the formation reaction of collagen , a very important protein in the structure of skin, bones, ligaments, muscles and vascular tissue; • It has a key function in supporting the immune system and the body's natural defenses (it helps the differentiation, maturation and functioning of lymphocytes and protects monocytes and neutrophils from damage by free radicals); • It allows the intestinal absorption of "non-heme" iron (the one contained in foods of plant origin) and intervenes in the synthesis of red blood cells , responsible for the correct oxygenation of the body; • It is able to reduce the toxicity of some metals and inhibit the synthesis of carcinogenic compounds (such as nitrosamines). Thanks to its properties, vitamin C is particularly useful for maintaining healthy skin , slowing down skin aging and protecting us from damage caused by UV rays , as well as preventing and combating the onset of seasonal ailments and infections. PureWay-C® as a quality patent Per Chewable Vitamin C, the Yamamoto® Nutrition R&D team has chosen to use the PureWay-C® patent, currently the only source of vitamin C made with a fatty acid formulation, scientifically studied to optimize the absorption and retention of this vitamin in the body . The inclusion in the formula of naturally occurring lipid metabolites and citrus bioflavonoids improves both the absorption and release kinetics of ascorbic acid: the lipid metabolites are mixed with vitamin C during its manufacturing process and are obtained from safe plant sources . As shown in the image above, in this particular form of vitamin C, fatty acids act as carriers of ascorbic acid to increase intestinal absorption and cellular absorption kinetics, allowing vitamin C to enter cells safely, quickly and effectively. Natural citrus bioflavonoids also protect vitamin C from the action of oxidant molecules, as well as helping to increase the antioxidant capacity of Chewable Vitamin C.
A study conducted by researchers at the University of Miami School of Medicine found that the average serum vitamin C level was higher in the group taking PureWay-C® for a period of 24 hours after intake. The study was conducted in healthy volunteers who ate a vitamin C diet for two weeks and then received a single 1,000 mg vitamin C supplement, taking PureWay-C® or one of the other forms of vitamin C. Researchers at the University of Miami School of Medicine determined that the level of C-reactive protein (a marker of systemic inflammation in the body) and oxidized low-density lipoprotein (LDL, the “bad cholesterol”) decreased when healthy volunteers took PureWay-C®. The researchers found that 24 hours after taking PureWay-C®, serum C-reactive protein levels decreased by 15.6% and oxidized LDL by 8.4%. Oxidized LDL is associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular disease. As shown in the figure below, researchers at Adelphi University found that in ex vivo studies, PureWay-C® form of vitamin C stimulates neurite growth, improves fibroblast adhesion during wound healing, and protects the immune system from inflammation. The research also indicates that PureWay-C® form of vitamin C provides effective antioxidant activity (+12%) and free radical scavenging activity (+11%): quantification was performed using the (ORAC, or Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity) and (DPPH) methods. Furthermore, the PureWay-C® patent is GRAS certified (“Generally Recognized As Safe”): its intake is not associated with any of the adverse effects that can occur with the intake of high doses of vitamin C. In fact, during the studies carried out with PureWay-C® vitamin C, no side effects or stomach problems were found.
