Yamamoto® Research Vitamina C Vitamina C is a food supplement based on vitamin C. Vitamin C * contributes to the physiological function of the immune system, ** to the protection of cells from oxidative stress and to *** the reduction of tiredness and fatigue. Vitamin C, also known as ascorbic acid, is one of the most important and indispensable water-soluble vitamins for our organism, which we cannot store and which must therefore be taken with food. The precious vitamin C is absorbed in the intestines and is then distributed to the various organs and districts, where it can perform its many functions.
Among the various properties for which vitamin C is known, its antioxidant power should certainly be emphasised, which gives it a protective effect against oxidative stress, free radicals and cellular ageing in general, as well as regenerating other molecules with antioxidant action (such as vitamin E and glutathione). It is also involved in numerous physiological mechanisms:
So it is clear that thanks to its many properties, vitamin C is particularly useful in maintaining the health of the skin, slowing down its ageing, counteracting excess wrinkles and dry skin, protecting us from UV damage, preventing and supporting the fight against seasonal ailments and infections, as well as intervening against iron deficiency anaemia and various other disorders related to its deficiency. Why is it useful to prevent this deficiency if we can introduce it through various foods such as fruit and vegetables? It is well known how easily this molecule deteriorates during the preparation or cooking of food (it is in fact defined as thermolabile) as it is very sensitive to light, heat and therefore to storage processes. Furthermore, it should also be considered that in today's agriculture, the content of this vitamin in fruit and vegetables is becoming increasingly scarce, a consequence of various factors such as intensive farming, pesticide use and pollution. Benefits of our supplement Why choose Vitamin C:
